The state's pre-opening plan reviews, pulled every day, with the phone and email each filing carries. Most are still months from opening when they file; you get there before anyone has quoted the job.
Counts cover the 30 days ending August 11, 2026. They count fixed-premises restaurant filings only, so mobile units and carts are excluded, as are shared-kitchen and commissary addresses. Restaurants that were already operating when they filed are excluded too: a plan review is also filed for a remodel or an equipment change, and those are not openings. Rows are then deduplicated, so counts are businesses and not database rows. The state's raw file lists 536 filings over the same window before those exclusions. Tampa Bay's seven counties are Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Manatee, Sarasota and Polk. Licensing rate measured by survival analysis over 3,226 seated filings since 2025-07-01, which corrects for filings not licensed yet.

The state publishes plan reviews on its own schedule, so neither of us can
beat it to a filing. The difference is what happens after: this feed is pulled every morning, so
a filing reaches you the day the state posts it, while a weekly list can sit on it for up to a
week, longer in the three weeks a year it does not publish.
* The weekly and 4-times-a-year figures are theirs, published on their own site. Re-checked
2026-08-02: they still state weekly delivery, 49 weeks a year, pausing for Thanksgiving,
Christmas and July 4th.

A new kitchen needs a cleaning schedule from the day it opens. The filing tells you which kitchens are coming, and when.
Fire suppression runs on the same clock. It is sold separately, so a fire company and a hood company can each hold the same county.
Radar is raw state filings, earlier and cheaper. Nobody phones each restaurant to confirm the contact first, so some rows reach a permit agent or a general contractor instead of the owner. A human-checked list is a different product at a different price; this is the filing itself, months sooner.
